Last month, I was having a hard time believing that the holidays were almost here.  But now they're here.  Full force.  The Halloween isle at Wal Mart is being pillaged by children and the Christmas trees are being put on display and we're all starting to smell that baked turkey in the kitchen.  Where has 2004 gone?  It has been quite a year.

As we sit down to enjoy this holiday season, let us not forget those who aren't going to have a happy holiday.  Those who have lost loved ones to the war.  Those who have lost loved ones here at home.  I had the solomn duty of attending a funeral last week for a family member.  It's going to be hard on his wife and children and even his mother to enjoy this holiday season.  As will it be for the Hendrick racing family, who lost ten loved ones when a private plane headed to a race in Martinsville, VA, crashed.  Ironic that a Hendrick-owned car won that race just as news of the tragedy was filtering to the track.  Or the family of Victoria Snelgrove, who was killed by police after the Red Socks won the playoffs.  The list could go on and on and surely everyone reading this could add to it.

Enjoy the holidays and remember to say a prayer for those who won't be enjoying it so much.  And don't forget to pray for a peaceful and prosperous 2005 for everyone in America.
