EDITORIAL Two days ago, I didn't have enough material to even think about putting the March issue of C4L together. I was scrambling, desperate. Should I draw from my own bag of writing? That's something I've tried to avoid doing, as this site is a service to both its writers and readers, not a platform from which to advance my own career. That is why I never attach my own name to these editorial columns. Just know that the faceless person who sits behind this computer screen month after month really doesn't have a secret agenda. With three submissions, including a piece I'd done recently, I seriously considered closing the site. That's not something I wanted to do, but when it started, I promised God that I would keep it going as long as there was content. When He stopped sending writers my way, I would stop trying to keep this little venture going. Tuesday afternoon, it looked like the handwriting was on the wall. I was prepared to pen a farewell column, direct my readers elsewhere to some of the many small e-zines like this one, and forget about this little experiment. God, however, had other plans. I must thank Glenn A. Hascall, whose writing excellence has graced this website for a while now. Upon hearing of the low number of submissions for March, Glenn took it upon himself to drum up support from the Faithwriters community. What support I received. For the first time since starting this site, I have more content than I can run in a single month. Thank you Glenn, and thank you Faithwriters for coming out in droves. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and welcomed. In the future, I will know where to look for talent and ideas. I would be remiss if I didn't include a link to Faithwriters: http://www.faithwriters.com God bless you all. In Christ, |
